How We Work

Vollyspot looks to collaborate with local music promoters, artists and events to help produce parties that celebrate the Melbourne music community. We often look to work with different segments of the local scene to offer events to a wide variety of music lovers. Vollyspot aims to handle the logistics such as local council procedures, bar stock/staff/ops, production needs, security and stakeholder management while our collaborators organise the creative expression and curation of the event.


1. Hospitality

We manage and run the hospitality output of all our events, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Liquor Licence Procurement

  • Bar Build

  • Bar Operations

  • POS Management

  • Sales Analysis

  • Sales Post Reporting

  • Low Waste Procedure


2. Sound & Lighting

We have in-house sound and lighting solutions for DJ and live music events of up to 800 people. The optimal solution includes:

• Audio stack

•DJ gear (mixer, CDJs, Technics, Megadeck)

•Lighting solution

•Staging

•In-house audio engineer and sound management

•Bump in/out


3. Event Management

On most occasions we are utilising spaces that are aligned with local councils or art organisations, which requires us to communicate with key stakeholders.

Along with this we:

  • Communicate with council/venue event teams throughout event process

  • Engage local community to communicate event information

  • Work with EPA on noise and sound levels

  • Communicate with emergency services, if required

  • Provide post event information for key stakeholders

  • Ensure event operations are communicated and streamlined with collaborating partners

  • Effectively manage unforeseen issues and problem solve solutions


4. Site Operation

Over the years we’ve established some really great relationships with people who truly make the difference in an event being great or not. We have access to a trusted:

  • Security team who are - well established, not over-bearing, LGBTQIA+ trusted and caring in nature

  • Site team who create a safe space for everyone regardless of background

  • Bar staff who are highly professional, helpful and attentive

  • COVID-19 procedural experience - we have established table service, section service and QR code order pick ups so our events can continue during Covid restrictions
